If you and your partner are unable to have children, you are entitled in Germany to get help from a doctor or a counselling centre.
In Germany, fertility treatment is available to married couples (men and women), unmarried couples (men and women) and lesbian couples (women and women).
Types of fertility treatment
There are various medical treatment options available to treat infertility. Only specially trained doctors are permitted to carry out fertility treatment.
If the couple is unmarried, the doctor will often only carry out the fertility treatment if
- the man and woman are living together in a steady relationship;
- it is certain that the man will acknowledge that he is the father of the child.
Fertility treatment is normally carried out with the sperm of the husband or partner.
- If your partner does not have enough sperm,
- or the fertility treatment is not working with your partner's sperm, or
- a lesbian couple (woman and woman) want to have a child,
another man's sperm can be used.

The doctor decides after a test which type of fertility treatment is most sensible.
Sometimes, the doctor can also prescribe the couple medicines to help.
The treatments covered can vary greatly between different health insurance providers. You are best to ask your health insurance provider directly about how much they will pay and what is covered.
يتعذر في بعض الأحيان على الأزواج إنجاب الأطفال. وفي هذه الحالة قد ترجع المشاكل في الخصوبة إلى الرجل أو إلى المرأة.
فان لم يمكنكم أنتم وشريككم أو شريكة حياتكم إنجاب الأطفال فلديكم في ألمانيا الحق في الحصول على مساعدة من طبيبة أو طبيب أو من احدى مكاتب الإستشارات.
يسمح في ألمانيا بعلاج مشكلة الخصوبة عند الأزواج المتزوجين (رجل و امرأة) والأزواج غير المتزوجين (رجل وامرأة) وكذلك عند النساء السحاقيات (امرأة وامرأة).
طرق علاج الخصوبة
وهناك طرق طبية مختلفة يمكن بموجبها علاج الخصوبة. ويقوم بهذا العلاج فقط طبيبات وأطباء تخصصوا في هذا المجال.
إذا كان الشريكان غير متزوجين فيتم علاج الخصوبة غالباً فقط من قبل الطبيبة أو الطبيب وذلك إذا
- كان الرجل والمرأة يعيشان معا في شراكة متينة
- كان من المؤكد بأن الرجل سـيقر و يعترف بأنه هو والد الطفل.
يجري علاج الخصوبة عادة بالتركيز على السائل المَنَوِي للزوج أو الشريك.
- إذا لم يكن عند الشريك السائل المَنَوِي الكافي أو
- إذا كان علاج الخصوبة بالبدء بالسائل المَنَوِي للشريك لم ينجح ، أو
- إذا كانت لدى امرأتين من السحاقيات (امرأة وامرأة) الرغبة في إنجاب طفل
ويمكن أيضا أخذ السائل المَنَوِي من رجل آخر.
التكاليف
تكاليف فحص اسباب العقم
في البداية يتم فحص اسباب العقم من قبل طبيبة أو طبيب والتحقيق عن الأسباب التي تؤدي لعدم الإنجاب. ويدفع التأمين الصحي تكاليف هذا الفحص.
تكلفة علاج الخصوبة
بعد إجراء الفحص يتخد القرار اللازم من قبل الطبيبة أو الطبيب حول الطريقة المناسبة لعلاج الخصوبة.
وفي بعض الأحيان تقدم المساعدة للزوجين من قبل الطبيبة أو الطبيب باستعمال أدوية معينة.
