ENEnglish – How to use a condom

Put on a condom before penetration. Do it in the following way:

  • Check that the expiry date has not yet passed. Only use condoms with the CE quality label on the wrapping. 
  • Tear the pouch open. There is a small incision on one side of the packaging to help you. Do not open it with scissors, a knife or teeth. The condom may tear. Be careful with long fingernails.
  • Pull back the foreskin if the penis is not circumcised. Squeeze the tip of the condom to leave room for semen and put the condom on top of the penis. The penis should be hard (erection).
  • Make sure the rolled-up rim of the condom is on the outside. Roll down the condom over the entire penis so it does not slip off. 
  • After ejaculation, take the condom off the penis while it is still hard. 
  • Hold the condom at the rim and make sure no semen leaks out. 
  • Tie the condom in a knot to prevent semen from spilling out. Throw the used condom in a bin.

Only use the condom once. 

Condoms are available in different sizes, depending on the thickness of the penis. The condom should not be too tight or too loose.

Do not use 2 condoms at the same time. The condoms may tear.

Only use water-based lubricants on the condom. Use a lubricant especially when having anal sex.

Buying condoms

You can buy condoms in a pharmacy or supermarket. Sometimes you can also find them in other stores, bars and nightclubs or vending machines. Some organisations offer condoms free of charge.

NLNederlands – Hoe een condoom gebruiken

Breng een condoom aan voor penetratie. Doe het als volgt:

  • Controleer of de vervaldatum nog niet overschreden is. Gebruik alleen condooms met een CE-kwaliteitslabel op de verpakking.
  • Scheur de verpakking open aan de inkeping. Gebruik geen schaar, mes of uw tanden en wees voorzichtig met lange nagels. U zou het condoom kunnen beschadigen.
  • Trek de voorhuid terug als de penis niet besneden is. Knijp het topje van het condoom dicht om plaats te laten voor het sperma en plaats het condoom op de top van de penis. De penis moet stijf zijn (erectie).
  • Zorg dat de opgerolde rand van het condoom aan de buitenkant zit. Rol het condoom af over de volledige lengte van de penis om te voorkomen dat het afglijdt tijdens het vrijen. 
  • Trek na de zaadlozing terug. Doe dit als de penis nog stijf is en houd het condoom vast bij de rand. 
  • Voorkom dat er sperma uit het condoom lekt.  
  • Maak een knoopje in het condoom. Zo kan er geen sperma lekken. Gooi de gebruikte condoom in de vuilnisbak.

Gebruik het condoom maar één keer. 

Er bestaan condooms in allerlei maten, afhankelijk van de dikte van de penis. Zorg dat het condoom niet te strak of te los zit. 

Gebruik nooit 2 condooms tegelijk. De condooms zouden kunnen scheuren. 

Breng alleen glijmiddel op waterbasis aan op een condoom. Gebruik zeker glijmiddel bij anale seks.

Condooms kopen

U kunt condooms kopen in de apotheek en de supermarkt. Ze zijn soms ook te krijgen in andere winkels, cafés en nachtclubs en aan automaten. Sommige organisaties bieden gratis condooms aan.
