ENEnglish – How to use a condom

Put on a condom before penetration. Do it in the following way:

  • Check that the expiry date has not yet passed. Only use condoms with the CE quality label on the wrapping. 
  • Tear the pouch open. There is a small incision on one side of the packaging to help you. Do not open it with scissors, a knife or teeth. The condom may tear. Be careful with long fingernails.
  • Pull back the foreskin if the penis is not circumcised. Squeeze the tip of the condom to leave room for semen and put the condom on top of the penis. The penis should be hard (erection).
  • Make sure the rolled-up rim of the condom is on the outside. Roll down the condom over the entire penis so it does not slip off. 
  • After ejaculation, take the condom off the penis while it is still hard. 
  • Hold the condom at the rim and make sure no semen leaks out. 
  • Tie the condom in a knot to prevent semen from spilling out. Throw the used condom in a bin.

Only use the condom once. 

Condoms are available in different sizes, depending on the thickness of the penis. The condom should not be too tight or too loose.

Do not use 2 condoms at the same time. The condoms may tear.

Only use water-based lubricants on the condom. Use a lubricant especially when having anal sex.

Buying condoms

You can buy condoms in a pharmacy or supermarket. Sometimes you can also find them in other stores, bars and nightclubs or vending machines. Some organisations offer condoms free of charge.

Póngase un preservativo antes de la penetración. Hágalo del modo siguiente:

  • Compruebe que no haya pasado la fecha de caducidad. Use solo preservativos con la etiqueta de calidad CE en el envoltorio.
  • Rasgue la bolsa para abrirla. Hay una pequeña incisión en un lateral del envase que le servirá de ayuda. No la abra con una tijeras, un cuchillo ni los dientes. Podría desgarrar el preservativo. Tenga cuidado con las uñas largas.
  • Retire el prepucio si el pene no está circuncidado. Apriete la punta del preservativo para dejar sitio para el semen y ponga el preservativo sobre el pene. El pene debe estar duro (erección).
  • Asegúrese de que el borde enrollado del preservativo quede hacia el exterior. Desenrolle el preservativo sobre todo el pene, de modo que no se deslice.
  • Después de la eyaculación, quite el preservativo del pene mientras sigue duro.
  • Sujete el preservativo por el borde y asegúrese de que no se salga el semen.
  • Ate el preservativo con un nudo para evitar que el semen se derrame. Tire el preservativo usado a la basura.

Use el preservativo solo una vez.

No utilice 2 preservativos al mismo tiempo. Podrían desgarrarse los preservativos.

Use solo lubricantes a base de agua sobre el preservativo. Use un lubricante, especialmente al tener sexo anal.

Comprar un preservativo

Puede comprar preservativos en una farmacia o supermercado. En ocasiones, también puede encontrarlos en otras tiendas, bares y clubs nocturnos o máquinas expendedoras. Algunas organizaciones ofrecen preservativos de forma gratuita.
