Phimosis is the medical term for a tight foreskin. The foreskin is too tight if it cannot be fully pulled back behind the glans without difficulty and pain. Almost all boys are born with a tight foreskin, and usually it resolves during their childhood.

Phimosis can be treated with special ointments or by surgery (circumcision). 

Le phimosis désigne un resserrement du prépuce. Le prépuce est trop étroit lorsqu’il est difficile et douloureux de le repousser entièrement derrière le gland. Presque tous les garçons viennent au monde avec un prépuce étroit, qui s’élargit généralement au cours de l’enfance.

Un phimosis peut être traité, soit par des crèmes spécifiques, soit par une opération (circoncision).
