Phimosis is the medical term for a tight foreskin. The foreskin is too tight if it cannot be fully pulled back behind the glans without difficulty and pain. Almost all boys are born with a tight foreskin, and usually it resolves during their childhood.

Phimosis can be treated with special ointments or by surgery (circumcision). 

Phimose ist das Fachwort für eine Vorhautverengung. Die Vorhaut ist zu eng, wenn sie sich schwer und unter Schmerzen vollständig bis hinter die Eichel zurückschieben lässt. Fast alle Jungen kommen mit einer Vorhautverengung auf die Welt, die sich meist im Laufe der Kindheit zurückbildet.

Eine Phimose kann behandelt werden, entweder mit speziellen Salben oder einer Operation (Beschneidung).
