PEP (profilaxia post-expunere) este un tratament cu medicamente anti-HIV, după un contact sexual neprotejat. Tratamentul reduce riscul unei infecțiii cu HIV. Tratamentul trebuie început în termen de 3 zile de la contactul cu risc.

PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) is a treatment with HIVmedicines after unprotected sexual contact and the justified suspicion of possibly being infected. The treatment reduces the risk of an HIV infection. The treatment has to start within 3 days of the risky contact.
