Fimosis is de medische term voor een vernauwing van de voorhuid. De voorhuid is te strak als het moeilijk en pijnlijk is om de voorhuid volledig achter de eikel te schuiven. Bijna alle jongens worden geboren met een vernauwing van de voorhuid, die meestal in de loop van de kindertijd verdwijnt.

Phimosis is the medical term for a tight foreskin. The foreskin is too tight if it cannot be fully pulled back behind the glans without difficulty and pain. Almost all boys are born with a tight foreskin, and usually it resolves during their childhood.

Phimosis can be treated with special ointments or by surgery (circumcision).
