اندامی که در دوره بارداری زن، به همراه جنین در رحم رشد میکند. مواد مغذی از طریق جفت از مادر به جنین منتقل و مواد زائد جنین نیز از طریق جفت به مادر منتقل میشود. جفت و جنین از طریق بند ناف به یکدیگر متصلند. جفت ده تا سی دقیقه بعد از زایمان، از بدن مادر خارج می شود.
