HIV often has no clear symptoms at first. You often cannot see whether you have HIV: get yourself tested. This is the only way to know for sure.
Symptoms
At first, you may get symptoms resembling the flu:
- sweating at night;
- fever;
- tiredness;
- rash on the skin;
- swollen lymph nodes.
At a later stage, if you do not take medicines, HIV weakens your immune system. Your body cannot defend itself against infections any more.
It is not possible to know if someone has HIV by looking at him or her.
Ask a health professional for help if you think you are at risk of having HIV.
Symptomen
- 's nachts zweten;
- koorts;
- vermoeidheid;
- huiduitslag;
- gezwollen lymfeklieren.
